Great News for Brandeis Donors!
Congress recently extended the charitable gift provisions of the Pension Protection Act, which gives Brandeis supporters the opportunity to make a gift to the University directly from their IRA without having to pay federal income tax.
Details:
** Gift must be made in the 2012 tax year
** IRA holder must be age 70 1/2 or older
** Gift total cannot exceed $100,000
** Withdrawal goes directly from the IRA to Brandeis
Donors do not need to itemize their taxes to take advantage of this special IRA rollover provision. If the donors do itemize, they cannot also claim the contribution as a tax deduction.
Please consider taking advantage of this unique giving opportunity that can benefit both donors and Brandeis!
